The Gal Who Took the West movies, Western 1949 | 4:3 | Color | Quality: Excellent Yvonne De Carlo Scott Brady John Russell $12.00 |
Land baron Michael O'Hara (Charles Colburn) thought he had contracted for a plump old opera singer from NYC to come to celebrate the opening of his opera house, but he and everyone else is stunned when the beautiful Lillian Marlowe (Yvonne De Carlo) steps out of the stagecoach! Lily immediately sets out on a mission: to marry the future richest man in Arizona Territory! There are two candidates for this distinction: Grant and Lee O'Hara (John Russell and Scott Brady, respectively), two cousins who control equal halves of Arizona, but are still under the thumb of their grandfather, the aforementioned land baron. The two cousins feud over everything and it doesn't take them long to begin feuding over the sultry De Carlo (who can blame them?). The feud threatens to start a civil war within the state and everyone works trying to prevent this with little success. Eventually it is revealed that Lily is hiding a secret, but that doesn't stop the two competing cousins from letting their tempers explode in a brutal two-fisted finale! |
